It wasn’t completely terrible like Lasher. But it wasn’t a masterpiece like the first one. It was just… Okay.
pushed through this one. Rice's writing style of telling a story through a character telling a story is just not for me.
I think I read this whole series in high school...but this novel was the most unfamiliar to me as I listened to the narrative. I enjoyed the new characters and again the huge scope Rice takes on in this world she has created. I felt the ending left a little to be desired, but on the whole, it was satisfying.
Weakest of the trilogy, I admit to skipping large chunks of this. The taltos story wasn't interesting at all. It was my investment in the Mayfair family that kept me interested. Rowan, Michael and Mona's stories were the interesting part.

The world building, the web weaving, the interconnected stories, it’s all built and written so masterfully. Truly one of the greatest writers of the age. I loved the tangled drama and disturbing history of the Mayfair Witches from beginning to questionable end.

Really enjoyed this book. Sad to see it end and see the series end. The writing was so beautiful and painful at times. Very moving. But I did feel left with lots of questions still and no answers in site.
