'She tipped her head back and gave the moon a wicked smile. She'd been called Ardalan's Assassin for a reason. Dramatic entrances were practically her art form.'

Everything is connected. Wow.

Girl, that plot twist? WOAH. I knew a few little bits about this series but the way the plot twists are set up means they're exciting and shocking nonetheless because of the way they're revealed. There were so many answers to previous questions, but all opened up more questions - the web of the plot is building which is so interesting but really daunting aha I'm in deep now.

This book is graphic. The whole series is but woah, I was shocked at some of the descriptions so just be aware. Maybe it's the emotions combined with the actual description, but together it hits deep.

The girlhood and the ROMANCE?! Damn. The first half was exactly what the story needed even more of, and set up the second half fantastically! If only because the loss of happiness and safety is cut so much deeper when you've got so comfortable with it. Don't ever forget the stakes in this series.

The romance deserves its own section, because I was NOT ready for that level of cuteness and male pining. Feeling like a very lucky Chaol lover girly right now. The level of pure desperation and willingness to burn the world for each other, is what made this book for me. Dialogue like these had me in a choke hold fr:
- "I would be the greatest fool in the world to let you go alone."
- "You remind me of how the world ought to be, how it can be."
- "I can't tell you if I should be ashamed at wanting to hold you this day, or grateful that, despite what happened before now, it somehow brought me to you."
- 'It was like coming home or being born or suddenly finding an entire half of herself that had been missing."

The characters are constantly so well developed. You can't not get attached to them (Chaol) which just turns every little sadness into heartache, and every frustration into rage. I love a lot of these characters and can't wait to see where they end up. I am sad that this seems to be the end of the story as we know it, with a clear parting of ways for characters and their stories which is disappointing. But this all clearly leads to more important and exciting characters and stories, so. Characters are getting developed so well. Why do I now care about characters I despised? This whole thing is one huge mindfk.
CHAOL. My heart can't forget this. I adore the story of them, and I'm desperate to read how it continues. What this man has to go through - this is fr Chaol's story and we're all just living it.

There are so many more cool AF moments in Crown of Midnight, I'm in love. Most notebal mentions that had me wanting to scream:
- The fact that Celaena outranks the King's own guards
- That one tiny chapter of the random slave girl.
- Celaena literally declaring herself a murderer who'll kill anyone necessary to defend her story.
- The sheer level of dominance Celaena has over almost every other character.
- That last fight scene in the tomb.

This series is always daunting because there's lots of new characters added throughout each book. I'd definitely recommend tabbing each intro as there's really detailed and important descriptions given that you don't want to forget.

To sum up this review - I was gagged.

"I want you to know that in the darkness of the last ten years, you were one of the bright lights for me. Do not let that light go out."

The last 10% of the book had me breaking the fourth wall, looking for someone to talk to because SO MANY THINGS HAPPENED
