IT WAS SO GOOD AND TRULY YES IT PICKED UP THE PACE AND THE STORY REALLY UNFOLDED AFTER THE HALF OF THE BOOK IS REACHED! Two Things:

1. WHATEVER YOU DO: DON'T LOOK UP SPOILERS FOR THIS BOOK. It will make the ending that much more jaw dropping. 
2. Also, please do not DNF this book. I don't why so many say they have, but please read it to the end.

Review: Oh my word this book was amazing! At first it was slow, but midway when

Nehemiah was murdered

is when the plot/book picks up A LOT. Then it continues with subtle hints of what is to happen, and mentioning a rebellion which is one of the two focuses of the book. Overall this book, after the halfway point was WILD. The ending if you do not have it spoiled will blow your mind!

I also liked how it tied in her grandmother, and Celaena getting the arrow of the goddess who guess what was secretly one of the three origanl fae sisters, and her grandmother. That part makes so much sense now, and her reaction to receiving the gift of that goddess aka her grandmother.

Oh, and then when

she reveals her fae form when stepping into the portal, and revealing her crazy powerful powers is incredible. Also Archer is a horrible back stabbing character in this story.

 

Also, Chaol is the most confused love struck charcter in this book. His moral compassion is evident, but pointing at the wrong person a LOT. His love for Celaena as well is really confusing. He seems to struggle with loyalty and love, and by the end he keeps struggling with that blurred line. (Which makes no sense with his friendship now with Celaena.)

MINOR SPOILER: Also in my review of TOG I had said that Kaltain's charcter seemed irrelevant. However, there were dots about her connected in COM, that are hinting at something bigger with her lineage. And also Roland Havilliard's as well.
