This book started with promise, the premise was interesting with Ayla saving a "beautiful earth and air eyed man" from being shot, but in turn being shot herself and ends up losing part of her arm from the elbow down. But because she saved the mysterious man, said man decided that him and his two friends shall stalk Ayla for 2 and a half years...
At first I was like is this another [b:Fifty Shades of Grey|10818853|Fifty Shades of Grey (Fifty Shades, #1)|E.L. James|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1385207843l/10818853._SX50_.jpg|15732562], where there is an alpha male who is rich and will stalk his "obsession"? And ummm yes it was kinda like that. I think that the fact that Marcus (the beautiful earth and air eyed man) literally stalks the crap out of our main character with his two friends Theo (the goofy not serious one) and Ryland (broad silent type).
You might think, "Kaity why did you still read the book if you know you didn't like it" and to that I tell you, "I like to torture myself if it isn't obvious".
I was wanting to know why Marcus and Co wanted to stalk Ayla and the only reason we got for the whole time is that he wanted to know her, and her heart and what goes on in her mind... and I'm like you couldn't have seen her when she was in the hospital or something 2 years earlier???!!!!!!!!
Also the fact when Ayla would have flashbacks about her time getting shot, she would have it mixed with a sex dream with the three boys, and I'm like "uhhh...hmmm that is weird... but to each their own, in your own dream world" and that is where I thought it would end... BUT nope when she has a flashback in real life with Marcus and bros, she decides to act on her dream of taking it head
on (yeah I did a penis joke if you didn't get it haha) but yes to clear this up she ended up having sex with Marcus and Theo (poor Ryland got the short end of the stick) while having a crippling flash back, and I am reading it thinking to myself, "there is no way that this is happening right now" SO that is where I decide to draw the line and stop myself from torture.
I will skim the end to just see what happens, but honestly I just don't care about these characters anymore. For having romance in this RH, I felt no romantic connection with Ayla with the other two guys besides Marcus, since she rarely hung out with the other two guys.
I don't get how this had such a high rating, but I must have missed the hype train for this, but its over and it is time to move on!

the only thing that bothered me abt this book was how it felt like a romance between the fmc and Marcus but left his two friends out. it felt like there were a little thrown in.
safety:
no virgins
fmc was raped when she was 15 im not sure if she had sex after that
no mention of the mmc’s past just that one of them went out of his way to get laid when he was a teenager
also i read in the next book one of the hero’s is engaged to OW. he randomly comes back from being missing for half the book and is engaged. no thanks.

Ayla takes 3 bullets meant for Marcus and in turn loses part of her arm. Over two or so years, Marcus Ryland and Theo stalks her and keeps an eye on her. Marcus is obsessed with her and so are the others. The MMC's are in a game to rule the city against other influential families. Marcus gets shot and it ends in a cliffhanger

I could not connect with this story. I liked that the author had an FMC with a disability, but other than that? the plot just didn't make sense to me.

It’s been so long since I’ve read a book, ahh, I missed it. And this baby was a perfect little read to get me back in the mood. I absolutely love all the men in this story and Ayla, such a bad ass, no nonsense female character. I love her. It’s not as steamy as I was expecting but it was as still a good read.
yeah.. this book had no reason to make me stay up till 5am devouring every word it has hours before i start work. theo has my WHOLE FCKING HEART BISH. WHOLE HEART. i thought the romance (reverse harem) was gonna be the whole plot but no -PLOT TWIST- theres a whole other plot that is going to unfold in the next book and third one. UGHHHH JUST THE DIFF PERSONALITIES OF MARCUS, RYLAND AND THEO UGHHHH I LOVE
I LOVE HOW RYLAND IS A TSUNDERE CHARACTER UGHHH
anyways catch me bingeing the rest of the books brb

I actually couldn't put this books down. The beginning dragged a little since it took the boys to come out of hiding a while but when they did the book got progressively better as it went on. It's not a super written book but it's still really interesting and it has a good plot.
