This book had me HOOKED - I was truly emotionally invested in Ayla’s life and the repercussions of her split second decision. But honestly, the whole twist in the end about what exactly is going on with the guys was the biggest disappointment because it’s so weird and illogical and unrealistic compared to how relatable Ayla is. So yeah, would have easily given this 4.5 stars but that whole plot point killed the book for me, so only giving it 3.

Loved It

The story started off interesting, but quickly escalated into something even better. Mafia-style hunger games? Absolutely thrilling!

The MC was headstrong and forged by the events of her life. Her reactions were well played out. The three men were all very steamy if not a bit typical in their bad characteristics. But honestly it’s difficult to write a RH without calling on some of those more well known character types.

Overall it was wonderful. Excited for book two!

I really didn’t like this book. Way too violent for my taste. I did finish the book, but hated how they ended on a cliffhanger. I won’t be reading the next one.

This is the second series I read by Callie Rose. Her books are on the adult side of the adult genre. I liked it, but I thought and continue to think that the sex in her books can sometimes be too frequent and almost cause you to lose sight of the story.

This was also the first polyamorous/reverse harem book that I read that wasn't set in the fantasy/paranormal genre.

The relationship here is unhealthy and should not be modeled. It was obsessive and stalker-y. I did like how the author worked in a disability. We could use more of that. I definitely can't recommend people emulate this relationship. But despite my complaints, I was really intrigued by this one.
