I enjoyed this one so much! I loved reading about two successful and influential Latinx doctors basee in the Midwest - where I'm from. Martinez's knowledge in the medical field was thorough and extensive. She either works/worked in health or her researching skills and understanding of the inner workings are incredible!

Carolina was such a bad ass! Fierce and took no shit. She put herself and her career first and I loved that!

This is a slow burn romance but I wanted more angst and longing. What I missed were lingering looks, flirtatious banter, and discreet touches. I felt the story was so focused on the medical trial plot that the connection between Caro and Hector didn't get the time it needed.

I loved the maturity of both main characters but also one particular side character that we don't even meet on page. I truly respect that she wasn't the cause of jealousy or any other conflict but was a champion for Carolina and Hector.

Read this if you like: slow burn, age gap, workplace romance
