under the perspectives of a lovable, innocent but strong narrator, this book opens up my eyes to the deaf community as a resilient and inspiring community. overall an easy and relatively quick read but an inspirational one.

I thought this was very well done. I enjoyed her use of language to give us a better "feel" for signed-language and deaf culture (as she mentions in the author's note, this is very intentional). I didn't LOVE the main plot climax though.
