came to love it….

Wasn’t much of a fan in the early stages but it’s grown on me and I’m really looking forward to the next part.

no surprise here that this was a 5/5 for me. I absolute adore the whole mafia world that Cora has created. I loved getting to see snippets of Luca/Aria. I love how each series is connected to each other but still separate and their own.

Cora Reilly can do no wrong in my eyes

all cora reilly’s books are literally the same, just with different characters. this was just remo & serafina in different clothes.

Cora does it again

The relationship between Maddox and Marcella is one of my favorites from Cora so far. Marcella is strong and a force to be reckoned with and Maddox stole my heart. I hate that I have to wait for part 2 but am so happy they got a longer story-I’m not ready to let them go yet!

despite everything it felt somewhat comforting going back to this universe. the concept of a new generation, and having them inevitably connected to the previous one not only by blood but by their sins gives a whole new meaning to the original series (luca's pov made all the difference). even if i do believe this story didn't need to be dragged into two books, it was still a better love story than that of her parents.

This is my first book by Cora Reilly and I’m not a fan of MC stories, so I wasn’t sure what to expect but this book is excellent. I missed the part in the description that this is a duet and I absolutely hate cliffhangers but I still enjoyed it very much. The story starts off a bit slow but the suspense is perfect. Once the action starts, it never stops. I would have liked more dialogue between the Marcella and Maddox before they declare they’re in love but their relationship is still quite interesting.

Maddox was willing to sacrifice his own life to save Marcella, so I really like him right up until the last pages when I begin to have doubts. We’ll see how that turns out in the conclusion. Marcella is awesome, though. She’s a complete badass and I loved her more and more as the story progressed. I’m not going to go into detail about the plot because there’s no way to avoid spoilers but it’s going to be a real drag waiting until December for the conclusion. That’s a long time. I probably wouldn’t have read this book if I had realized there was a cliffhanger with a three month wait for the conclusion but I enjoyed the book very much and look forward to the ending.
