Bronson Pinchot narrates the audiobook. And his performance is what makes this a 5 star review for me. Listened at 1.3 speed.

Summary “Master Sergeant Reed Beckham has led his Delta Force Team, codenamed Ghost, through every kind of hell imaginable and never lost a man.”

I think this book was more exciting than the first book. Makes you wonder how worst can it get in the next one.

I am not sure if I think this is better than the first book or not. Maybe I have to ruminate on that. It has some really good twists and turns, but there are also some very clumsy and unnecessary scenes. I could have done without the awkward love scene. I think my biggest gripe with this book is how the narrator (in the last one as well) pronounces the H in words where the H is silent. For example, wHistle, wHiskey, wHite...you get the drift. I will continue on because it is good enough to pursue.

What a ride! Part 2 was freaking awesome!
I went in without knowing there would be a 3rd book so as I was reading I kept checking how much more I had on my kindle because the story is so good and I didn't want it to end, but as I was getting closer to the end I realized this was not the end of the story so I have to say that I am very happy there will be more because I was not ready to let these characters go yet.
The story has a lot of action and mystery and a ton of suspense, like you'll be on the edge of your seat waiting for something to scare you.
Oh and did I mention I got my romance? I did! In book one I was wishing for 2 characters to fall in love and I could kind of see it, it was a big maybe but it was a possibility and boy am I glad the author went for it. I was waiting for it and I got my love story <3 (Bit of a SPOILER ahead)
In this part of the story the monsters are a little bit scarier because they are evolving and getting better at killing or "hunting" the humans so some characters are lost and you might be a little sad. It is a post apocalyptic story after all so you know many will die but you are still hoping everyone makes it alive... I'm kinda hoping no one else dies, LOL!
I am looking forward to the next book, I can't wait to know what will happen, how will the author fix this world? I'm sure it's going to be epic and I'm sure Kate will be the one to do it with the help of Reed of course.
I definitely recommend reading this book but you need to read book one first or you will be super lost. But seriously do it, both books are incredibly awesome!

Mini-Review:

Great follow up to book one! It had a nice balance of getting to actually know the characters involved, action, ridiculous decisions and dealing with the reality of bio-weaponized mutations. The story felt more menacing in atmosphere. The idea of you think you know what you are up against and how it doesn't reflect the actual event at all.

SpoilerI sort of hope Kate ends up being a bad guy regardless of her good intentions. Due to the idea that you cannot actually control the world no matter how hard you try.
