it was a promising theme but the writing was so basic. it felt like the way i’d write a book, and that’s not a compliment haha. just basic descriptions, characters, and predictable behavior. but if you’re looking for a quick thriller read, it’s exactly that! just not my fav of McFadden’s books.

I flew through it but it was kinda hard to follow. Like there were so many characters that had little importance that it just made remembering them hard when they came up again.

I had high hopes going into The Tenant, but unfortunately, this one just didn’t work for me. The characters were not likable at all—they came off more annoying than intriguing, which made it hard to stay invested in the story. On top of that, the plot was highly predictable. I found myself guessing the twists early on, and there wasn’t much payoff to keep me hooked. Overall, I didn’t enjoy the story and struggled to connect with it. Just not my cup of tea.
