Can I just say that I absolutely adore Malec? Like how could anyone not love them.
Love Magnus' wit and Alec's sarcasm, forever top-tier.
Aline thinking Simon and Jace were a thing was so funny, what I wouldn't give to read his reaction to that comment.
Getting to know more about Magnus and how he hides behind his flamboyance gave me more insight into his character, and I love that. I also love that we see their vulnerabilities in their new relationship and not just them being happy all the time.
However, despite all of the good things I have to say about this book, I feel I must take away one star because I felt there were some points where the book had odd pacings at times. There were some parts that went too in-depth, and some that lacked explanation.
Overall though, definitely one of the better books about shadow hunters that I've read so far. (Although, I've only read the first 4 M.I. books so that isn't saying much)

I loved being back in the world of the shadow hunters and I absolutely love Magnus' character, so I was excited to read this story which didn't disappoint. I enjoyed being swept up in Magnus and Alec's developing relationship which showed the hesitant and sometimes insecure nature of first love and learning to trust in each other and the ability to not just love but be loved.
I just loved this book which made me smile and gave me lots of warm fuzzy feelings.

or need i say, the bane chronicles' redemption arc? because the bane chronicles was one of the likely-to-dislike shadowhunters books. i loved magnus sb but that book didn't do him justice. but now!!!! the red scrolls of magic almost felt like a novella, except with the length. still, it didn't feel THAT long to read for me! such wonderful adventure and i can't wait to read the other two books!

I love Magnus and Alec they are the OTP!!!! Magnus I love like a platonic soulmate and learning more about him always brings me joy and pain. I was so happy to see Aline and Helen falling in Love!!! All around this book was great!!! But the ending leave you with so many questions!!!!! 10/10 Magnus and Alec can tell one compelling story
