jolene is so fucking cute. i love black women. jason is a lil boring except when he’s in the bedroom ;) but he could still get it. this is a debut novel (i believe don’t take my word for it) and it kinda reads like one. the pacing isn’t my favorite but again i love black women so read it. also FÜCK MARK ME AND MY HOMIES HATE MARK

Oh man, I was excited for this story (author namesake alert!) but I was a little disappointed. The story was solid, if you're looking for an easy read, that's sweet and engaging (read it in 1 day). However, I was bothered by a few things mostly the use of tense. It might just be me, and I am a little rusty on my tenses, but there were some weird spots in the book where i was like...'wait, what? shouldn't the words be...?'. Yeah.

Didn't jive with the MCs either. The development of the relationship was a little lacking and the flow of it was kind of awkward. But, I still managed to finish the whole story, meaning none of that turned me away so yay.

I love romance books! They had the typical enemies to lovers with close proximity and all that. I was scared that it was moving too fast during the road trip but the story after was really nice. I enjoyed the book a lot.
