Great mindless summer read that explores the stories behind the headlines.

It was interesting to get a behind the look at a show that I enjoyed watching. Over time, I got tired of watching the show because they ladies continued to talk over one another and it was hard to pay attention to all the "racket". Makes perfect sense why the show went downhill. They lost too many good hosts only to replace them with one-dimensional personalities that I just didn't care to listen to.

3.5 stars! Wow what a read. I started with the show as a kid and have only vaguely kept up with it as an adult, but I’m a sucker for a juicy read. Still an interesting concept for a talk show that has for better or for worst, stood the test of time. Very interesting to hear about the drama that went on between the scenes and sometimes in front of the camera.

Unless you grew up watching the View (with your mom like I did or by yourself), this book will not interest you. However, if you are, this is the person you want telling you the history of the show. This author does an incredible job researching and is most likely the foremost resource about it's history. If there is a person who was even minutely involved in this show, they were interviewed for this book. Very Very informational, 90% interviews so you get the info straight from the source, but he weaves the tale of this complicated series so well. Dives deep into the legacy and career of Barbara Walters.
