I'm being generous giving this book 2 stars. This book has to have some of the most unlikable, whiney characters ever written! The likeable characters are the minor characters and they aren't developed enough in the book.

I didn’t really like the change of perspective of different chapters, especially in the beginning, I found it confusing, however once the pieces were together, the story was quite good.

I found it hard to follow the disjointed time line at times. I also did not feel the characters were ones that drew you in. The setting was 2001 but the interactions felt more like the 1940s- 50s. I usually really love Jojos books but this left me dry.

Jojo Moyes is always a good read, and this one is no exception. The Peacock Emporium sets up on the high street, but it's not entirely accepted until it's owner becomes part of the town through it's people.

I found it a bit hard to get into and slow moving. I didn't really connect with the main character and found her tedious with all her issues about her family. I finally made it through and overall it was jus so/so. Maybe this is a little harsh because I had such high hopes based on enjoying Me Before You and After You so much.

I am glad this wasn’t my first Jojo Moyes book, because if it was, I wouldn’t have read the others. It should have taken me 3 days to finish this book, but the first half was so boring that it stretched into 2 weeks. Luckily, the second half was halfway decent. Still, my least favorite of her books by far, mostly because it jumps in time and place without warning and causes temporary disorientation and by the time you figure out where and when you are, you tend to miss out on the clues.

Not my favorite book by Jojo Moyes, but still okay. The main character was annoying even after she was supposed to have grown up and changed so I spent most of the reading time irritated.
