Liked it, didn't love it.
This book is a well-constructed novel with twists and turns that were well-executed, though I don't feel like the most important question was ever really answered.
Zig is a mortician on a military base in Dover, Delaware who realizes that a body he's received for post mortem care has been misidentified. In an effort to figure out why the powers that be are rushing the body through Dover and covering up the plane crash that killed the woman in question, he begins his own investigation.
I found the details of the novel interesting, and I certainly learned a lot about things I had known nothing about prior, but I thought the story moved a little too slowly. Although Meltzer built full characters and created great visuals, I felt that some off the detail detracted from the pacing. I don't think the story would have been impacted if we'd known less of the characters' backstories, for example. There were also parts near the climax that dragged. Still, it was a pretty enjoyable read.

For me just OK
Just never caught my interest. Doesn't mean it's a bad book or poorly written, just not my taste I guess.

Fast paced, fun read, filled with twists. I enjoyed it.
It's more like a 4.5, but in my heart, it's a 5 stars book. I don't know how to express it, but it caught me completely since the beginning of the story.
The Escape Artist took me back to my first Brad Meltzer novel, Millionaire (great read!).
His chapter to chapter transitions entraps me into a page-turning frenzy. His storytelling is special!
