I have loved Caitlin Doughty's work since I very first came across her hilarious, excellently researched and educational YouTube channel. (Seriously, check it out! She's awesome! https://youtube.com/@askamortician?feature=shared )
Specifically, the exploding caskets episode https://youtu.be/KxOAYAhl1fo?feature=shared
which won me over instantly. I now consider myself significantly more empowered, at peace and 'death positive' than many of my peers because I have been privileged to learn the 'hokey pokey, what it's all about' of the physical nature of mortal death, primarily from Caitlin Doughty.
The order of the Good Death and the general movement to recognize death, funerals and social/cultural ideas of death for what they are and increasing education rather than fear, is inspiring. Giving greater dignity, agency, independence and freedom of choice to individuals and their families is God's work, and I'm really glad we have someone like Caitlin to lead the charge.

Very informative and fun book about what happens after we die. Covers some interesting questions like why don’t bugs eat bones? why do we all fit in urns after cremation when we’re different sizes? and why do we turn colors after death?
Graphic: Death, Gore, Blood, Excrement, Medical content, Grief, Injury/Injury detail

A quick read (or listen), entertaining and eye-opening. A good nonfiction for the non-nonfiction reader.

Stiff by Mary Roach is better. But this is definitely entertaining and informative.
