This book is about someone giving a book a one star review because she didn’t like it and the author is trying to get vengeance for that. Ironically enough, I didn’t like this book either. 
The base premise wasn’t bad but it tried too hard to be “Gone Girl” with the constant plot twists. Didn’t like that.

This was a fun thriller, although it does deal with some darker themes. 

The plot follow Emma, who is house-sitting at an isolated beach house, and she reads a truly horrible horror novel and leaves a 1-star review, which leads to her getting into an online argument with the author himself. Strange circumstances start happening, disturbing incidents, and she starts to wonder if there’s more going on and if the author is possibly stalking her. 

I think that the novel itself was fairly well written; there were some plot points that were predictable, especially for people who read a lot of thrillers. If you’re in the mood for a good thriller, it’s a great book to pick up.

Yoooo this was such an out of pocket thriller. Once I got into it I was properly hooked. Something is keeping me from giving it 5 stars but to say anything about it would be too spoiler-y. It was pretty solid though and came with the "holy shit" moments that I expect from Taylor Adams after reading No Exit years ago.
