I borrowed this book from the library on a whim. And it was quite a delightful bit of fluff. It starts off with pragmatic Katie Chandler, who has moved from Texas to New York, noticing some odd things in the Big City. People wearing fairy wings, people fawning over a Not Hot guy, gargoyles winking at her, etc. But she chalks it up to it just being a crazy time in a crazy city. But it turns out that she's actually being tested for a new job position. Which is good, 'cause her current boss is a monster. Not a real monster. Those don't exist. Except that... it seems that magic DOES exist because that's what she's been seeing lately. Katie, it seems, is an immune. And a particularly good one. She is impervious to magic and she can't do magic so invisibility spells, charms, etc. don't work on her. The world that is usually cloaked is open to her. And it's good that she's so pragmatic, immunes tend to go a bit... well, crazy. And with the firm of Magic, Spells, and Illusions, Inc. (MSI) in danger from Evil, an evil so big they've awakened Merlin, it's good that she's coping well with her new role.
Enjoyed this book, just my style. Will have to read the rest when I get a chance. This is definitely my style and I like the cast of characters but it was a casual read not "OMG I must keep reading and finish it right now!"
I loved this book. I thought it was funny and it had a great setting. The characters were very diverse and I thought they each added a lot to the story. I can't wait to read the next book!
It was amusing but written very straight forward. More like a screenplay than a book which is never good. It wasn't bad but I wouldn't recommend it to a friend.
Quick read, funny, light and amusing. Great book to read between heavier books.

I had just gotten back from vacation. I was not looking forward to going back to work the next day. And I had just finished reading [b:The 5th Wave|16101128|The 5th Wave (The 5th Wave, #1)|Rick Yancey|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1359853842s/16101128.jpg|19187812] and was annoyed to discover that the holding list for its sequel, [b:The Infinite Sea|16131484|The Infinite Sea (The 5th Wave, #2)|Rick Yancey|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1395351812s/16131484.jpg|27237970], was much longer than I'd expected. I was not excited enough about that series to go out and by the book. So I looked for something light and fun to read to pass the time and take my mind off my return to the grind. I came across Enchanted, Inc. on Overdrive and decided it fit the bill.
It was a cute little story. Kind of like a clean Sex and the City with magic. (There are numerous references to the TV show. The book even has the tagline "Hex and the City" which I think may have been the originally intended title.) Katie Chandler has all the makings of an underdog Chicklit heroine. She was a quirky small town gal trying to make it in the big city but stuck in an unfortunate job and unlucky in love. Then she is suddenly drawn in an unexpected direction when it is discovered that she can see things most people cannot - namely magical things. So our Southern girl is abruptly plunged into a world of magic and excitement. It was a cute, fun start to a new light series to read.
The only thing that bugged me was that the title is Enchanted, Inc. whereas the name of the company she works for is actually Magic, Spells, and Illusions, Inc. Enchanted, Inc. is not mentioned anywhere in the book. I am guessing this changed was made by the publishers because Magic, Spells, and Illusions, Inc. is not a catchy title. But nevertheless, I like consistency, so this deviation bothered me a bit. Not enough to make me dislike the book overall, but I needed to point out the discrepancy.

This was a thoroughly silly, fun romp. I enjoyed the characters and I am a bit of a sucker for the "young female professional tries to sort out her new baffling adult life" storyline anyway. Throw in a bit of magic and silly commentary about the weirdness of NYC and you have a delightful read at the beach (or snuggled up cozy in the winter) page-turner.
I absolutely adored this cute little book! I'd been wanting to read it for a while now and finally received it as a Christmas gift and once I got started I couldn't put it down! I have read a few fantasy/cozy/ chick-lit type books as of late and all of them have left me wanting a bit more. Enchanted Inc. on the other hand delivered all that was promised and then some!
When Katie Chandler finds out that she is completely un-magical it doesn't seem like such a great thing, cause everyone wants to possess a little magic. But as it turns out this very trait makes Katie Chandler quite remarkable because she can see things that others can't...such as fairies, sprites, talking gargoyles (you heard me right, talking gargoyles)etc. Because of this gift she is hired by a centuries old company called MSI Inc. Magic, Spells and Illusions to be a verifier. To be sure that everything is on the up and up and no one is trying to get by on a little illusion. But when Katie realizes that MSI is in big trouble and she may be the key to saving the company she begins to wonder if she has bitten off more than she can chew.
This is the beginning to a wonderful series and I cannot wait to get my hands on the next installment. 'ENCHANTED INC.' is highly recommended!

Maybe 2.5 stars. I will not read the rest of the series.
