WHAT. JUST. HAPPENED?! I think my brain just exploded. I’ve been reading this series since the beginning and I was invested in Maeve & Wolf’s story just as deeply! (Possibly more?)
Maeve and Wolf definitely do not have first meeting that anyone would call typical though, to be fair, their love story is not even close to typical either. Maeve is not only battling her own demons, on the run, and in the center of so many unanswered questions after being accused of something she knows she didn’t do.
Wolf does not know what to make of this girl but, he sees something familiar in her and is drawn to her. He has had to deal with his own darkness and together they seem to find something in each other that they were missing. While this is a smidge of a slow burn, there is MORE than enough angst, action, and suspense to keep you on your toes! While I was really sucked in by the crazy moments, I also loved the quieter ones.
Thank you, Brooklyn Cross for another Righteous book boyfriend that will occupy my brain!!!

Oh hell to the no, how could you end this on a cliffhanger like that.

Out of all the series this book has by far been the best, it was emotional, funny and so full of action.

I cried like a baby for maeve and laughed at her cheek and her antics.
Wolf omg I love him and his big heart and also I wanted to hug his pain away.

That ending though I'm soo cross Brooklyn how could you do that to me lol

But no it was brilliant and defo deserved more than 5 stars

Wolf is a U.S. Marshal and a member of the Righteous. He's the person you call when you need to track someone down. Wolf is given orders from both organizations to track down a fugitive that's unlike all the others. Maeve is on the run after being falsely found guilty for a murder she didn't commit. She thinks she's in the clear until she realizes Wolf has found her. He believes her when she professes her innocence and decides to help her prove she's not gutrauma.

Wolf can see that Maeve is battling inner demons and helps her as she works through her childhood trauma. As they spend time together, they can't deny their developing feelings for one another. Just as things are looking up, they are found by the people trying to get to Maeve.

I. Love. Wolf. That's it. That's the review...just kidding I've got more to say.

I enjoyed this book and I need the next one immediately (there's a cliffhanger). The story was interesting and has a lot of layers plot wise. I absolutely adore Maeve. My sweet girl endured some terrible things in her childhood that made my heart break for her. The pain that she felt when working through her trauma as an adult was gut wrenching and made me ache for her. She's such a strong heroine and I love her so much.

Wolf and Maeve gave me angst, humor, spice, and romance. I love them so much. They're so different from other couples, but that's what I love about them. I love their weird timing of jokes, the way they support one another, their chemistry, and how deep their love is. I can't get enough of them.

Wolf 😍 This man is amazing. The way he loves Maeve is unreal. I absolutely loved that he told her she wasn't broken and made it known that he loved every part of her. Also, the way this man dirty talks was so hot. He went from "Oh, we can't be together because you're my mark and too young" to "This 😺 is mine and I'm going to get you pregnant" and I LOVE it.

I totally forgot I signed up for this, so as soon as it landed on my kindle I started right away. I dove in completely blind and I couldn't put it down once I started. And here I am getting suckered into a series and not realizing that I was smack dab in the middle of it.

For the most part, I was able to get through the story without having to read the previous books, but I'll definitely be going back to see if there are more dots I can connect.

What a ride this book turned out to be. Full of action, mystery, suspense, and ohhhhh the tension between the MCs.

I was so fascinated with each character, going in, I didn't have much to go off of, so I didn't have a ton of information on their background. With Wolf known as one of the best trackers, I just loved his approach to everything. And despite his job, there was something about Maeve that kept him from turning her in. I loved their dynamics! Maeve doesn't hold back when it comes to what she wanted, and it was allllll set on Wolf.

It's definitely a bit of a slow burn, but the tension is there from the very beginning. You'll be eager for more!

Such a great read where I was fully immersed in everything that was going on. I can't wait to go back and learn more about the Righteous and their partners!
