Another good one from Mr. Gibbs. I really enjoyed this book. I did not have it figured out, I had an idea but did not have it all. I love the mystery and the animal conversation in these stories. The budding love story is also very cute. I can't wait to read the next one.

Stuart Gibbs writes delightful books for young readers. It’s been many years since I read the first Funjungle book but it wasn’t hard to follow this third book in the series at all. It’s interesting to have the exotic animals play important roles in the story. It is also fun that these books take place in the Texas Hill country where I live. I actually have had a few neighbors who work on an exotic animal ranch and I have heard the same reasoning described in the book from them.

Like all of the FunJungle books, this book is a light-hearted adventure where Teddy gets to use his detective skills and outwit Marge and others. It was interesting to see Teddy with Summer by his side again like in the first book, and I love how supportive Teddy's family always is. More than anything else, I love how Gibbs brings awareness to endangered species.

Another amazing read from Stuart Gibbs. In Big Game, someone is shooting at the pregnant rhino Rhonda, and no one can quite figure out how or why it's happening. JJ McCracken forces Teddy onto the case and its game on.

While the mystery was great, and well drawn out, with enough clues to keep you guessing, I really liked that Gibbs made sure to point out the problems with rhino poaching and conservation. I feel that this book would make a great read-aloud or starting point to learning about rhino poaching and conservation for either individuals or a class. I highly recommend this book to young middle-grade learners.

One of the things I very much appreciate about the FunJungle series is their focus on animal conservation. This book was no exception! I learned about animals I'd never heard of and got to read about my favorite animal, the orangutan. Teddy and Summer continued to be the best two characters in this series, although I also enjoyed revisiting some familiar faces!

I had an idea of who the hunter was but didn't connect all the pieces until the end, which was nice! If you like middle grade, animals, mysteries, or all of the above, this book is for you!
