Very well written/ read.

Would love to see this become a movie - if the producers can capture the emotions of the book accurately.

This book is AMAZING I have read it twice now, I love it so much!

You end up falling in love with the characters like they are you own Sisters (note the capital S)
Only read if you are okay with crying for ten minutes at various parts of the book (this happened to me both times I read it!)

It has an amazing plot with lots of plot twists that grip and pull you into the story and dont let you go until its done

I wish this book had a sequal!

Also the writing style is amazing, there is the perfect amount of description to allow you to imagine sort of the more fine details in how a character looks for example but also gives you a good base
the settings are also described in this way

I cant tell you how much I love this book tbh it changed the way I look at everything and changed my life too!

I highly recommend to any feminist out there.

Let the fire inside your heart continue to burn and let this book help it to burn brighter with fury, love, hate and hope.

Witches are real...and from now on, I am one of them.

The tale of the Eastwood sisters, with the rage of a fire has captured my heart. In this story about women rights, sorority and witchcraft, Alix E. Harrow has built me a personal portal to my refuge in stressing times. Her prose was the protection spell I needed and know she is one of my favourite authors.

The problem is... now I do not know how to cope without my favourite withes.

Thank you to Little Brown Book Group UK and Orbit for the review copy in exchange for an honest review. This does not change my opinion in anyway

I enjoyed Alix E. Harrow's first book so I was excited to read this next book by her. However I didn't quite enjoy this book as much as I hoped. I mean, its about witches, where did it go wrong?

For me I think it went wrong with the characters. We follow three sisters who had a hard life and who were separated 7 years previous. They all gravitate towards New Salem and in 1893 find each other once more. I though there the excitement would start but I never found it. I couldn't quite get myself to care about the 3 main characters. I still feel like I only scratched the surface on them. Maybe I would have liked it better if we had followed just the one character's point of view. There ended up being an awful lot of switches between the three. I just didn't care if any of them lived or died.

And I felt no excitement about the story. The start tried to create almost a fairy tale like feeling with the rhymes and such, but throughout the story there was no such thing. It was honestly boring in places, especially nearing the mid of the book. Like I said before, there was no excitement to be had. I don't need to be surprised by twists. But I do need to care. And I never did.
