I truly love this series. It is fast paced and action packed. I love the introduction of the new characters and new monsters! I really can’t get enough of Tamora’s work.

I love Daine. Shes an amazing complex character just like Alanna. Great book.

Loved the atmosphere and magic system, but had a hard time fully immersing myself in the story and kept getting distracted.

I enjoyed this book. It was not my favorite and I found it a bit annoying at times, but it was still an enjoyable book. I liked the magic systems, it was interesting to read about. I did though find the writing style to be very weak feeling. You could clearly tell this book was meant for a younger audience.
I also wish I had read the Song of the Lioness quartet before reading this book, that being said I do plan on continuing with this series and reading other books by Tamora Pierce.
