This was a really good read, the magic system was simple but interesting and well explained, I loved the whole family of witches plot which hit the right spot for someone who grew up on charmed. Rhia and Valerie were a cute couple whose relationship development was paced very nicely. There was also some nice and well-executed representation, including ace and non-binary. All in all, I enjoyed it a lot and it's definitely one I would hand-sell to customers - though I think the reading experience would be much better with a physical copy, just because I always enjoy cozy atmospheric books more when I have them In my hand.

Thank you Netgalley and Wattpad WEBTOON Book Group for providing me with an e-arc of this book in an exchange for an honest review.

Really cute book! With great LGBTQ+ representation and BIPOC representation, a bit of a love story with mystery and magic.

Definitely picked this up on a whim from my library’s new books section. I kept trying to get into Love and Other Wicked Things and was just bored.

We always need more queer books! But this was maybe a little too “younger LGBTQ+” for me — lots of talk of vegan food, “lesbian” style boots and flannels, and most people introducing themselves with their pronouns. Obviously I don’t dislike any of that, but I’ve found queer culture incorporated more subtly in other books I’ve read.

Other reviewers have said that the Black (Rhiannon and her family) and Asian American (Quinn) rep could’ve been done better, although I can’t say for sure from what I read. I did hear that the Black rep could be problematic for one of the MCs in this author’s debut novel.

All of the negatives out of the way…this might still be worth a try for anyone who likes cozy fantasy, sapphic witches, YA or NA characters (Rhiannon and Valerie are 19). Also, if you really like Fleetwood Mac… guess who’s named after one of their top songs. Love and Other Wicked Things includes both an author playlist and an explanation of the tarot cards for each chapter at the end — pretty cool! The author’s bio says she loves crafting Spotify playlists.

Other Rep: lesbian MCs; asexual, bisexual, and pansexual/nonbinary SCs

I fell in love with 'Love And Other Wicked Things' immediately. I loved the romance, the characters and the plot line.

Rhia's family dynamic was so amazing and wholesome. I loved the various powers the different members had as well as the interactions between members of the family. I really enjoyed reading a story with a large family with multiple characters from the same generation that didn't have any sort of tension or rivalry. The love between the members of Rhia's family was palpable.

The friendship between Valarie and Quinn found a special place in my heart. The way we see them become family on the page and the way the author wrote about them loving each other in a non-romantic way was great.

The romance between Rhia and Valerie definitely put a smile on my face. From the initial meeting to them falling in love with each other. I loved it. I was also a huge fan of how the author wrote realistic reasons for why the relationship didn't take off immediately even after the characters realised they had feelings for each other.

Finally I loved the casual queerness and representation in this book. While there were some small missteps, I didn't see anything big that impacted my enjoyment of this story.

This book was a breath of fresh air after a series of DNFs and low ratings. So thank you to Edelweiss and Wattpad Books for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review

The beginning was a repeat of the synopsis, there was nothing to hook me in. I also did not enjoy the writing style.

Spoopy and dark! This book had a couple of my LEAST favorite human characteristics enmeshed with some actually cool characters. And of course those characteristics and tropes were the whole reason the story unfolded. Overall it was fun and interesting and i liked it.
