Enjoyed the book but felt it could have been slightly more coherent (though I imagine that was on purpose!) Prob let down a bit by high expectations too/not always being in the right frame of mind to read it

Gripping, uncomfortable and beautiful storytelling. Paced a lot like their comedy specials!

f you liked Nanette on Netflix you will enjoy this look into the life of Hannah Gadsby. Chronicalling her life from childhood, growing up very poor in Tasmania, to her wildly successful Netflix special, Hannah speaks honestly and earnestly. Life was not always easy for her, autistic and largely misunderstood, trusting to a fault, it wouldn’t be a shock to anyone if she didn’t have a single laugh left in her.

When she found herself feeding in to a cycle of toxic comedy, she decided it was time to self destruct. She thought Nanette would end her career, she intended it to, it was to be her swan song. A funny thing happens when you tell your story. It is heard by those who need it most.

Highly recommend to anyone who likes Nannette or just needs a lovely memoir to listen or read.
