So I definitely haven’t read The Kishi by Bandele yet, but I mean, look at this title?? Are you not intrigued?? What if I said it was an African fantasy influenced by Angola folklore? Demons, Monks, & Lovers contains snippets of the backstories for 4 of the characters (I’m assuming) we see in The Kishi and I am such a sucker for backstories and motivations
