the definition of adorkable! closed door and nerdy love.
Very little spoilers but things that might decide it you want to read it.
There are many things I loved about this book but there are two things that kept it from having a higher rating.
1. Workplace issue with boss. If you took out this entire subplot nothing would change the story. I felt like it was an unnecessary thing to throw in there just so our MMC could stand up for her. We really didn’t need that given the character arcs
2. The slow burn wasn’t done well in my opinion. Most of the book is these two stealing kisses in a hallway before having to stop because someone comes home. I think after the first 5 times it just felt like a drag. I know they both have roommates but both of them have roommates that are dating. They could have had a date night at one apartment and these two sneak to the other. They’re in the car alone a lot. Could’ve done something there. It just stopped being believable and turned into a less ideal way to have a slow burn. (I had this same issue with the Butcher and the Blackbird. Every kiss getting interrupted by a phone call is not a slow burn.)
Other than that it’s a cute story and totally relatable. This book is basically my friends group from HS and college. I loved how nerdy they were. I just wish the two things above hadn’t happened.

Too much on page time for the ex-bf, but that's overall a minor issue with how much otherwise I really enjoyed the romance. Gave me Ali Hazelwood vibes.
The narration is okay, I did not like how she intoned the MMC's voice, but otherwise enjoyed the rest of the performance.

I liked the nerdiness, but it had some predictable parts.
The harder part for me was that there were so many possible storylines set up (the ex, the game, the manager, the dad), that they largely felt underdeveloped. It felt like they're could've been something a lot deeper.
