A must read, specially if you are struggling or you know someone who might be.
Changing the concept from What’s wrong with you? To What happened to you? is essential.

I didn’t expect the book to be this good.

Oprah Winfrey and Bruce Perry's conversations about trauma (childhood trauma, community trauma, and intergenerational trauma) and how it affects our lives. They also discuss different approaches to healing and trauma-informed care.

As someone who is just starting to learn more about ACEs and trauma-informed care, this was a very beginner friendly introduction to the topic. The conversational style of writing and the multitude of anecdotes made it feel very informal and personal. I would have liked some clearer actions...I feel like even if I noticed behavior that hinted at past trauma, I don't feel confident in next steps.
