رواية لذيذة وخفيفة وفيها فكرة
عرفت في نص الكتاب ان جيفري هو صاحب الظل الطويل

I read this for the Forever YA book club. It's a really cute read; it's very enjoyable and has some laugh-out-loud moments. If you're looking for something quick and light, this is a good choice. Plus, it's in the public domain, so you can get it for free as an ebook.

DID NOT FINISH: 20%

I came to this book already knowing the twist:
Jervie is Daddy-Long-Legs
. When the the nature of the relationship between Judy and her benefactor started to change I looked up some spoilers (
14 year age gap, the dude doesn't allow her to interact with boys of her age etc.
) and I no longer feel like reading it. The letters are amusing and Judy is a very lovable protagonist, but I genuinely don't understand how this is not critiqued more.

It is so good. If you haven't seen the musical based on this book be sure to look it up because that's what brought me to the book and they're both so good! Very close to each other with just the slightest differences in certain details.

“It isn't the big troubles in life that require character. Anybody can rise to a crisis and face a crushing tragedy with courage, but to meet the petty hazards of the day with a laugh - I really think that requires spirit.
It's the kind of character that I am going to develop. I am going to pretend that all life is just a game which I must play as skillfully and fairly as I can. If I lose, I am going to shrug my shoulders and laugh - also if I win.”

Daddy Long Legs by Jean Webster is a delightful short novel. This one is my go to for a comfort read.

Written in form of letters, it captures the events of in the life of a young girl as she grows up, her thoughts, her learning and her journey in an entertaining and captivating manner.
