Finally, I've finished my run of this series and am caught up until the next book comes out in May. I love it when I find out about a series long after it has come out, as I can gorge to my hearts content. The binge is satisfactorily done and so I wait.

One of Ruth's university friends shows up - this one has left archeology and become a priest. This is about mothers, from the Virgin Mary to foster mothers to mothers of small children - and attachments healthy and unhealthy.

The weakest mystery in the series so far, and I personally don't find the "romance" between Nelson and Ruth compelling at all. A previous review said it, Nelson and Michelle should just be in an open marriage! Ruth's internalized misogyny and fat phobia, and Nelson's bigotry are grating and pull me out of the narrative.

Great mystery... I had no idea who the killer was! Though I sometimes wish that Nelson and Ruth would just make a decision and move on with their lives, I still enjoyed this one immensely.

An old friend of Ruth contacts her to get together, as the friend is attending a class for people to become bishops.
