4 stars, after I’ve listened to the German audio book version on Spotify twice. At the time of the first listen, I probably would have given it 3 stars. It was in spring 2021. Since then, I’ve needed more than a year for the second listening process. I have changed a lot and resonate with the author’s messages more now. Perhaps a third listening process will gain it 5 stars? We will have to see.

Just what i needed to read at this time. Although some of this is repeats from concepts from his other books this specific focus felt like it touched a theme that I have been exploring in myself.

how does he always turn my anger and pain into acceptance whenever I'm mindful of his teachings? Thich Chat Hanh is a GIFT.

The first resource that successfully helped me with mindfulness practice and connect how to do it in a way that makes sense for me. I want to put so many passages on posters throughout my house.

Excellent tools and insights for interrupting one's own narratives, feedback loops, and patterns. As I find a lot of Buddhist texts can, there's a disregard for the emotional and literal violence that some relationships feature, that cannot be fixed by writing love letters to one's abusive parents etc.

Still, intentionality, presence, and non-attachment are great to practice and have, and this was well done.

The ideas explored are explored repeatedly - would have benefited from being more succinct.

i’m probably not the target demographic for this book but i did like parts of it, like the stories in part two which i enjoyed. otherwise, the writing, especially in part 1, lags on relentlessly and is quite repetitive. read it if you truly believe in the beliefs shared.
