I wasn't expecting to like Written in the Stars as much as I did! I'm not usually a huge romance reader, but I really enjoyed the "fake dating turned real" theme in this book and that seems to be popping up more often lately. I thought it was fun to read about how on paper, Elle and Darcy are polar opposites. They don't seem like they'd fit well together but they're exactly what the other needs. There were some scenes that were *~*steamy*~* so if that's not your thing, this book might not be it but I thought it was a fun book all around.

Written in the Stars is a charming, queer rom-com featuring a quirky social media astrologer and a grumpy actuary who enter a fake dating arrangement to appease their families.

I’m giving this four stars because while the story was adorable and fun, Elle’s reason for agreeing to the fake dating setup felt a little weak. Plus, Elle and Darcy are such polar opposites that at times, I struggled to fully believe in their chemistry.

That said, as the story unfolded, I couldn’t help but fall for these characters. I laughed, I teared up, and by the end, I was completely rooting for them. I can’t wait to read the rest of this trilogy!

honestly? a lot like Boyfriend Material but lesbian and not as good (imo). if you want a fake dating book, unless you're specifically looking for sapphics, i'd just recommend boyfriend material.

while i did enjoy the astorolgy elements, it all felt a little cliche and predictable. the ending was rushed and there were too many sex scenes for my taste. however, the characters were fun and they all had good dynamics and backstories. i would read another book from this author.

DNF audiobook at about 20%. Just kind of meh for me.

I wasn't sure about this one at the start, the opening made me think I was going to find the characters too annoying, but they grew on me and I ended up enjoying this quite a bit more than I expected. A solid sapphic romance.

Oof, this one was tough. I liked Darcy as a character generally but that’s about all I liked. None of the plot points felt justified, the spice/instalust was kind of cringey, and the brother was deeply unlikable to me as someone who can appreciate a good boundary. I appreciated Darcy standing up for Elle to Elle’s family, but otherwise the rest of this book was kind of a mess.

Extra note: other than a scene early on where Elle overhears Darcy criticizing her to a friend, I didn’t see that this had much resemblance to Pride and Prejudice at all, and I’m mystified that it’s marketed as such.
