I LOVED every single second of this book. It's such a joy and idk what it is about winter/christmas settings for books that make it so warm and cozy but I love it and the feeling that it gives me

This book is so funny, there's so many one liners that literally had me laughing out loud

I feel in love with every single character they were all so unique and just had something so perfect about them

Although this is already a 5⭐ read the only thing that could make it better imo is an epilogue, I'm a big epilogue girly and love to see how everyone's doing like 2-5 years later and I just lowkey wanted that

- fake fiancé / marriage of convenience
- one night stand (one day stand? one 24 hour stand)
- sapphic romance
- set at Christmas
- LGBTQ+ rep (trans, lesbian, bi, demisexual, non binary)

This was such a lovely read and really helped me see things in a different light. I loved the diverse cast of people. Overall a very sweet, loving book about real life and a realistic way of how things like that would go. Easily a 5 star book.

The author kept telling me the main character was anxious and demisexual but her actions weren’t showing me that

Just your typical girl meets girl, girl loses girl, girls ends up in fake engagement with brother of lost girl story. It’s a cute twist on the fake dating trope with not one but two sassy grandmas. I’m a sucker for stories where families actually like each other so extra points for all the holiday togetherness as well.

The biggest problem was that I don’t like second chance romances. I saw them fall apart, I saw them hurting each other and then I just can’t be fully on board with the relationship anymore. And well, this is a romance book, so that will affect how much I like it.
I knew this was second chance romance when I went into it, however, this book was so well loved I wanted to give it a try anyway.
But besides that, Ellie is just an older version of me (beside the fact I got GAD without the help of parental abuse, and i’m deeper into the ace spectrum than she is). I adored the way the book portrayed her anxiety. I knew from the charm offensive that Alison is ridiculously good at portraying mental illness and she did it again here.
Just personally I struggled with enjoying the story because of that, as I use reading as a form of escapism and seeing my own anxieties on the page doesn’t exactly help escaping those anxieties.
I’m quite disappointed with the way Ellie’s demisexuality was portrayed. I would much rather say she is greysexual. Of course everyone can use those terms individually, but being able to feel sexual attraction within a few hours of building a connection seems beyond the scopes of what I see as realistic within the label of demisexuality.

Overall, mixed feelings about this book, with very good parts and very meh parts.

This book took forever for me to finish cause it returned to the library but it was worth itttt - I got to 60% before it returned and once I got it back from the library I binged it in a car ride today and finished the rest of it :)
This book has cemented  Alison Cochrun as a must read author for me and I loved Elle and Jack’s relationship
They weren’t perfect people and this did have the miscommunication trope but it was done well (imo) and above all I loved the relationship dynamics and personal growth in this book 🥺🥺
