Butterflies. That’s the word for this book. Butterflies and friendship, love and connection. This book is about how family doesn’t always mean blood. How we find love in the most unexpected ways and places.

The characters were addicting to follow. They felt like siblings you’d say to bring water for you and they’d say no but then bring it anyway. You felt like part of the family and it was lovely. Truly. The Mimas were iconic, Jack and her brother were felt like true siblings teasing each other but also ready to kill for one another. The same goes for Dylan (idk if I remember the name right xd) they were the grumpiest peace of annoyed sunshine ever and I loved them. I kinda wish we had the story of their romance with Andrew…

And at the end let’s talk about the romance which gave me goosebumps. It was so complicated and so unexpected and packed with emotion and borderline attraction. The spice hit deep if we’re playing the honesty game (pun intended).

The queerness of this book made me beyond happy and it was something else to read about a character whose demisexual just as I am 😭. I don’t think I’ve ever seen any other author throw so many queer people into their stories (besides Alice Oseman of course) and it was just what I was craving.

Such a diverse cast - I just wish it would also include (physically) disabled characters, because somehow that part of diversity is always forgotten. Anyway, a very wholesome story.

melted my lesbian heart (would give 3.5 if possible. predictable and kinda contrived but so many fun tropes and angst and love and based messages)
