Two stars for the great writing that Poe is capable of and another one for the Sherlock-like, wonderful "The Murders in the Rue Morgue." Can't recommend this book, and I'm glad it's over.

Really enjoyed this collection of short stories. My favorites were The Murders in the Rue Morgue, The Gold-Bug and The Cask of Amontillado.

Just the right number of Poe stories for me... I had read a few previously and enjoyed them again this time around. Others were new to me, for better or for worse. I think this was worth reading both for catching up on classics and for pure enjoyment.
