With this, I have read all the shadowhunter books currently published. Woo!! Not my favourite of the novella collections but I really enjoy Magnus as a character so it was fun to read! Some of the stories (the first ones especially) were a bit meh, but there were others I really enjoyed! The Alec ones were so soft and sweet :')

Look, I know Cassandra Clare is trash ok, but I cannot die on every hill. I really loved these stories, I really love Magnus Bane, and I really love Sarah Rees Brennan. I cannot solely consume pure, unproblematic content (mostly because it doesn't exist) and I need to get my joy where I can. If you're a fan of any of the connected series, I'd recommend The Bane Chronicles.

Edit: reread 2022 yup still love it

Overall, this book is a great read, some stories are boring but it also helps you to get to know more about Magnus.

Rating of each individual story:

- What really happened in Peru: 2/5. I really was expecting something more about this story and it ended up being boring :(.

- The runaway Queen: 3/5. Still a bit boring, but it was somehow better than the Peru one.

- Vampires, Scones and Edmund Herondale: 3.5/5. Okay this was one of the best, i think that everything that has a Herondale in it, is going to be good.

- The midnight Heir: 3/5. I really liked it but i honestly can't remember what was it about

3 hours 48 minutes - This is a reread for me, but I haven't read them since I was probably 13 or 14, so it was interesting to relearn the history of Magnus Bane. Some of the stories weren't really that interesting to me, but I appreciate the references to plot points from other series, and the extra background it provides. Of course, my favourite stories are those featuring Alec.
