Although this book is much the same as the first installment in the series, I found I had much less patience for it's saccharine sweetness and heavy-handed characterizations than I did when I read The Road to Dalton just a few months ago. I don't know if Bowring truly lays it on thicker here, or if this is just the type of story I can only tolerate at Christmas time. Regardless, it was an easy read and I didn't hate my time with it.

An absolute joy to read. A perfect sequel to a perfect story. The characters will stay with me forever.
