I toyed between three and four stars for this one, but finally settled on three stars because of how unresolved it felt by the end, and how much I couldn't stand the child, Coin.
This has all the trademarks of Pratchett's humour. The repetitiveness of earlier books is disappearing in favour of genuinely funny phrases and passages that really did make me laugh out loud as I was reading. My love for this series remains, and I will continue reading through them.
However, the ending is my main issue with this one. The different threads of the story: the Luggage, Rincewind, Coin, Conina and Nijel, all seemed somewhat unresolved except for Coin. His story arc ends rather abruptly, and with no insight into him as a character, I didn't really sympathise with him or his situation. He just annoyed me. I also didn't quite understand what happened with Rincewind or Coin for that matter. It was over so quickly. I'll probably have to re-read this one day to just get my head around that ending.
All in all, a solid instalment in the Discworld series, and still as funny as ever, but not my favourite one.

Meh. I was very much in it for the horsepersons. Very cool very fun very silly. I'm just not that arsed about Rincewind anymore tbh.
