funny fast-paced

Look I want to give this four stars because I am so very fond of Discword and the way Pratchett writes. But sometimes a writer thinks he's playing with stereotypes and instead he's just plain writing them. All the knock off middle east (ish) bits were like...really? I'm also aware that this is a repeat plot of the earlier Rincewind book: Powerful object (a hat instead of a spell book this time). Corrupt wizards with too much power. Getting attention from things from the other side. Blah blah blah. But with less interesting side characters along for the journey.

I also found the main couple fine on their own, but once together one said a particular thing that stuck in my mind, about the girl not being sure whether she was the 'Mr or Mrs' in the relationship because she...could fight? Even though she's ultra feminine? And you know, a woman?

Humor in books is such a rare thung to pull off but Pratchett makes it seem so easy. Wonderful characters and a plot that keeps a quick pace.
I liked new characters such as Nijel and Conina and old favourites like the luggage of course.
