Featuring the Wizards’ fashion sense akin to unhinged magpies, homicidal maniac trunk, Rincewind in a dress, Canina dreaming to be a hairdresser but doomed to be the best fighter due to hereditary reasons, a terrifying 10 yo, slavers destroying your self-esteem, another kidnapping for Vetenari and his lil doggie, wooly underwear, anti-light, multi-lingual shrugging snake, Nigel the asthma-attack ridden barbarian, the story harem, wizards’ obsession with towers, « there’s more to life than narrative », genies bending the space time continuum, the drunk horseman and three pedestrians of the apocalypse, the power of half a brick in a sock, the danse of uncertainty.

luggage continues to be the best boi (closely followed by death)

overall a joy to read, the story was truly "just" the background to some wonderful interactions between beloved characters (both new and newly reacquainted), i always love the ludicrousness that is the wizard society in these books so this was a treat for me.

there were some scenes that i kinda wanted to remove. most of al-khali just didn't land for me (though i do love that creosote gets so hilariously horny for story telling) and coin just reversing all the chaos that happened throughout the book near the end did feel a bit cheap (but it also kinda shows again just how powerful sourcerers are)

"a wizard...will always come back for his hat" is such a good ending line - it has me so excited to see when (and where) we will meet rincewind and his trust luggage again!

but now! finally on to the book that people kept telling me to read: wyrd sisters! and i can't wait
