Lost interest in the stories. Portrayed women as very one-dimensional. Not surprising for the time-period but made it not as enjoyable to read. Finished the first two short stories in the collection, wasn’t particularly interested in the others.

Not a book I would pick up, but I’m so glad I read it. I absolutely loved Sanguinarius. I think my ranking would be:
1. Sanguinarius
2. Sardonicus
3. Runaway lovers
4. Sagittarius
5. Vendetta
6. Comet wine
7. The cage

The first two stories, Sardonicus and Sagittarius, were my favourites and I was sure I would be able to give this collection 4 stars, but unfortunately, I didn't enjoy the other stories as much as the first two.

All of these stories are fantastic, but "Sagittarius" is one of the best I've ever read, with "Sardonicus" and "Sanguinarius" both very close behind.

I wholeheartedly recommend this whole collection, and if you're a fan of audiobooks, the narrator for this is awesome.

Absolutely 5 stars

Nothing in this collection scared me, but somehow it felt pretty cozy to read.
