Twisted Games is the second book of the series and I don't know why it took me so long to pick it up. It could've been because I don't usually enjoy bodyguard romances and it might've taken me even longer to pick it up if my sister didn't want to loan the book after I was done. I'm so glad I finally did decide to read it!

Rhys Larsen became bodyguard after military and he had rules about clients, especially about not getting involved with their personal lives and in his five years as a bodyguard, he'd never once crossed his professional boundaries. That was before he met Bridget and he can't help himself and get involved with hers.

Bridget is the princess of Eldorra, a small European kingdom. She wasn't happy when her new bodyguard was a little more strict than her previous one but even with his broodiness, she can't help but slowly fall for him.

I usually do not like time jumps but I think they were necessary in this book and I didn't even notice them. They were important for Bridget and Rhys' relationship growth. The princess and her bodyguard were so sweet and I didn't even mind how slow burn they were since sometimes slow burns can feel too slow for me.

He did such incredible things for her, like planning indoor festivals to her just because she couldn't go to actual one. She was more than a pretty face to him and he always believed in her. She on other hand was ready to fight for him even if their story was destined for a tragic ending. Before her, he had never loved or been loved.

All in all this slow burn age gap bodyguard romance was out of my comfort zone but I couldn't stop reading and I don't think there was a thing that annoyed me which is a rarely thing. I was also happy for the tiny crumbs we got from the couple for the first book, especially from Alex.

I think a series is really hard to pull off and sadly this book did not measure up to the first. Maybe it’s because of the fictional royal reality but I was not a fan. The spicy scenes were still flavorful so that’s what the two stars are for ;)

This is the second book in the twisted series, and I liked it more than the first. It’s really a spicy, modern day fairytale. I love the way Ana Huang writes the characters is a way that you are invested the entire time and care about how things end up. Rhys is without a doubt my #1 book boyfriends. The chemistry between the characters is genuine and the spice in this book is on point!
