This is a cute little historical story about a grandma who time travels with her grandkids to the Oregon Trail. It gives kids a good overview of the hardships of the trail but does not go into the diseases on the trail that many suffered from. It is set in 1843, so maybe that wasn't an issue in the early days of the trail.
My 6 yr old has been listening to the first few Laura Ingalls Wilder books and she got so excited to hear about some of the same things in this book.
A history lesson. Time traveling. Fun illustrations. Just the thing I love to read to my little one! It was entertaining for the both of us.
