Absolute masterpiece - gripping plot, superb characterization, great prose. This has easily become my favorite fantasy series of all time.

I’m so glad I came back and finished this trilogy off. So much time had gone by, I was rather apprehensive about picking it back up, but instead, slipping back into this magnificently crafted world with its unique and complex characters was like getting a warm hug from an old friend. Or like curling up in front of a roaring fire with a sleeping dragon at my back :)

My new favourite trilogy and this book - for me - the best of the three. Though Althea deserved better and Kennit should’ve had a harsher comeuppance.
