I love the background story of Molly Meade opening a ice cream stand and how it became her passion and love while her fiance went to war. At first it was only a way to get the girls together and be happy and a distraction from all the worries for the guys at war. But it bloomed to more. And we discover secrets no one knows other then for her friend, Tiggy!

On the other hand, Ameilia is ready for her 4th summer working in Meade Creamery with her best friend Cate before they both goes off for college. Ameilia and Cate are planning to make it the best summer yet! But... things don't always work to your advantage and that is the case here.

After Molly Meade's death, they were all expected Meade Creamery to shut down due to no relatives alive but apparently not. No one expected a 19 year old (her grand nephew, Grady) to take over and that when it got interesting!

I love the flow of this book and all those mentions of ice cream really made me want some! The special recipe Home Sweet Home sounds amazing?! I love the secret ingredient they used. Though the book was pretty predictable, it was a very pleasant read.

I enjoy Grady and Ameilia's romance. I'm happy Cate and Ameilia patched things up before they left off for college. I was expecting a big betray from Cate and I am glad it didn't came. I totally did not expect this turn of event where she took over the business.

What upsets me the most is the ending! The ending fell a little flat. I was expecting a chapter of where she comes back and see how her business is running and her blossoming romance with Glady. None of that! It ends abrupting in an old food truck! I would really like a new ending or sequel!!

A local ice cream stand in a town where Amelia and her best friend Cate work has a rich history, it was founded by Molly Meade ever since 1944. Amelia is head girl of the stand this summer, but the founder passes away before she even has her first day in charge.
Hesitant about her role as stand leader, Amelia is surprised when Molly's grandnephew arrives and asks her if she can stay on to support the business.

This was a fun novel that was mainly focused on friendship and feminism, there was romance but that came secondary. The influence of local history was a nice addition to the plot and added a tinge of uniqueness to the story as well as there being amazing supporting characters that had their strong points and weaknesses.

Siobhan Vivian is an auto-read author for me. I love her books.
I loved everything about this one, and I really relate to the feelings of wanting everything to stay the same while they're changing beyond your control.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for sending me a copy in exchange for an honest review.

Going into this book, I was really excited because the synopsis sounded really interesting and I've been loving books set in the summer recently but unfortunately I wasn't able to get through the entirety of this one and ended up DNFing it.

The characters to me just felt kind of flat and one dimensional and the story itself was slow and dragged a little. I was also cringing at times with some of the writing and it felt as if it was written for a younger audience, more specifically younger YA. I did however enjoy the ice cream aspect and the summery vibe, I just didn't really find anything else that I liked that kept me wanting to continue on with the story.

This is the first book I've read (or partially read) by Siobhan Vivian and I'm not really sure at this point if I will end up picking up any others by her.

This was a very sweet, upbeat book. It leaned closer to the "young" side of "young adult" and focused more on the girls, their relationships with each other, and apprehension about going to college than romance. I stayed up 2 hours later than I had intended last night, reading it through to the end, so I do recommend it! Nice, light summer read.

Pretty cute book for the most part. It's one though that makes me question if the characters/plot devices are immature or if they're accurate and I'm just too old to read 18 year old romances. There were definitely a few petty things and things that just weren't a big deal that would blow up into something. But I guess that's also just how some teenagers act.

**Mild spoiler about ending and friendship**

I know Cate had "growth" and there was a point to her acting the way she did but honestly, she just was a terrible friend. The way she acted through most of the book was ridiculous and a little too much to have redemption in my eyes. Cate wasn't a best friend, she was just a manipulative asshole. Good riddance.

This definitely had some cliches, but it revamped them and still surprised me with how certain things panned out. It was exactly what i wanted it to be.

If only i could taste that ice cream...

I wasn't sure what to expect from this - I read some really mixed reviews - but I loved it. It's a sweet (no pun intended) story of a teenage girl determined to save the ice cream stand that was the scene of the best summers of her life, even when the whole place is literally coming down around her ears. I loved the characters; they were all complex in their own ways and their behavior, while not always nice, was always in keeping with their personalities.

I'll definitely be looking out for more by Siobhan Vivian. A perfect read for hot summer days.

(I am a little curious where the kitten vanished to, though!)

When her dad comes in, Amselia asks him, "Do you think that if Mom had died when you were young, you would have married someone else?"

He takes a dish of marinade and a brush from the utensils drawer. He's not being evasive by not answering. He's taking his time, really thinking about what he wants to say. "I've been in love with your mom for nearly all the years I've been alive. It's hard to say what I would have done back then if I'd lost her, but at this point, I doubt that my hear know how to beat without her."

"You've never once gotten your heart broken," Amelia says.

"Don't hold it against me!"

"I'm not. It's just...I don't know. Like a miracle."
