YA fake dating romance with South Asian heroine. Karina is the star of this show, and her biggest fan is the misunderstood bad boy she is wrangled into tutoring in English. A story of growth, self-discovery, and young love đź’–

this book was everything i could have asked for and it was done so beautifully.
the relations in a desi household were portrayed so realistically and i could relate to karina so much. dadu was DEFINITELY my favourite the entire book. i will definitely be reading more of tashie bhuiyan!

This book was really good representation wise. Seeing a main character with anxiety like Karina was really relatable to me because I’ve never read a book with a character who I’ve related to more in that sense.
The plot was a little lacking and I found myself thinking “yeah ok sure…” at some points, but I think that’s how it is with most YA rom com style books.
Overall, I probably wouldn’t recommend this book if you’re not a big fan of fluff, but it was definitely cute and felt refreshing as a lot of the characters faced problems I think most high schoolers face today.
