McNamara's findings and research regarding the Golden State Killer-a serial burglar, rapist, and killer. She weaves the clues about the Golden State Killer with her own personal journey as she tried to solve the case.
To me (maybe because I listened to the audiobook), the story felt disjointed...particularly in regards to the chronological events. I also felt that there were tangents and leads that ended abruptly...which detracted from the story.

Tragic that she was unable to see the end of it. Really enjoyed reading about her work.

Michelle McNamara did some incredible research and fact checking to put this story together. The story ended up blending together a bit because the cases were so similar.

Thanks in part to Michelle McNamara's relentless investigating they finally caught this hellspawn. I only wish she had been here to see it happen.
This was gripping and terrifying for the first few chapters. But due to the author's untimely death, this book was unfortunately not finished properly. I lost interest as a result because of the the cobbled-together feel of the rest of the book. Still, a great, comprehensive, somewhat exhaustive, look at the GSK's crimes, his victims and the overall investigations that went into eventually finding him and bringing him to justice.
