This series just keeps getting better and better! I'm still kicking myself for waiting so long to read it. I think this was the best KA epilogue that I've read so far and live for her epic epilogues. This whole series will definitely be added to my comfort rereads list.

Not my favorite, but still worth the read. Mike is one of the local detectives, and the contender that lost Vi when she chose Cal. When Darrin Holliday dies at the young age of 44 from a heart attack, the people of the 'burg come out to show their support. Mike dated Darrin's sister Debbie in high school, but was always close with her sister Dusty. When Dusty sneaks into the funeral, and doesn't show at the graveside, Mike tracks her down to find out what her problem is. Dusty has been in love with Mike Haines since she was twelve, but after high school she got out of town, and hasn't been back except to visit in the last twenty years. When Mike gets to her hotel, he realizes he made a big mistake in coming there, not only because Debbie completely mislead him about the situation, but also because neither of them can deny their attraction, even after twenty-five years.

****Spoilers****
Debbie is a royal b****, she took over the funeral planning, completely ignored Darrin's wishes and did what she wanted. Dusty is fed up with her ball busting sister, and agreed to step back to keep the peace for her grieving family. Darrin has two sons Fin and Kirby. Fin is a junior in high school, but already knows he intends to stay on and take over the farm once he graduates. Debbie tries to get the family to sell, even going so far as to contest the will, and hook Rhonda, Darrin's ex wife into the drama. Mike and Dusty manage to stop Debbie's plans, and save the farm for their family. Fin and Clarisse (Mikes daughter) fall quickly in love, and at the end of the book it fast forwards to their wedding day. It also shows Dusty and Mike married with two young children of their own.

Love it. The only reason it's only 4 stars is I felt it was too wordy. Lots of stuff could have been cut- the clothing descriptions, and the REALLY long bits of dialogue. But I loved the story, Dusty, Mike, Fin and Reesee were fantastic characters, and No was pretty good too.

Lots of thrills and chills in Games of the Heart. Mike and Dusty get a second chance at love when Dusty returns for her brother's funeral.

Drama riddles the pages as they discover that to some greed is more important than family. A developer is not above doing dirty to get what he wants. Juvenile delinquents are more dangerous than they thought. There is no reason to rush true love.

Games of the Heart brought more than one happily ever after making for a wonderful romance.

There was just so much to love in this one. Mike and Dusty were beautiful. The kids totally stole the show for me and those epilogues! This just might be my favorite couple of the Burg.
