As a Christmas gift I inherited all my mums old moomin books and I plan to read them all this year (albeit not in order)

This was such a great book - and I am grateful I can read it in the original language - the first moomin book I read years ago was in English and I don't remember liking it much so I am wondering whether there is quite a bit that gets lost in translation?

Also a quick read, which I like - and the description of the actual play that they end up performing made me actually giggle out loud - something that doesn't happen very often!

Pure happiness! The book is filled with wonderful storylines characters, that truly make everything lovely and super enjoyable. I loved this so much!!

Oh dear. I don't think I'd ever read this one as an adult. And only had it read to me once as a kid because it was so so so scary. I remember it so clearly, though. The volcano, the crack in the ground, the huge wave and the scary ghostly lady at the theatre. And I remember being very sad about the abandoned forest children. The ending with all the hemulens was very scary too. Hemulens are scary.
