I'm conflicted on this. I LOVE Tony Stark but this was so much about Doom. On the other hand there was a lot of Riri which I really enjoyed. I'm not that familiar with this run but I didn't like MJ being in this. Was she his girlfriend or was that just an offhand comment?

This was so disjointed. Sometimes you were supposed to read across two pages but the panels weren't designed clearly enough to know which one was next, the text didn't help much either as it didn't always flow well. Overall this was a mess.

I knew going in I wasn't going to care for this and behold, I was right. Riri definitely deserved better than whatever the hell was going on here. At least the art wasn't terrible.

okay. okay. God knows I don't read every Marvel book that's out there. Can someone pls tell me how long Actual Leonardo DaVinci has been part of the Marvel universe?! Is he...new here...? Why did he appear so casually in the narrative. Is he immortal or a time traveler.

?!

anyway this book was weird but a lot of fun!

One thing I really loved about this set was the combination of two of my favorite comic book artists in one: Alex Maleev's moody elegance and Stefano Caselli's expressive liveliness. Each artist takes the panels which feature the character they've been working on in previous Iron Man titles: Maleev to the Doctor Doom plot, and Caselli to Riri Williams'. My little nerd heart was squeeing every time the art changed mid-issue to follow each one's plotline. And then to top it all of, the final issue, which features (spoiler?) the return of good old Tony himself, in comes another (several in fact) artists to take the closing battle to another level. There's artistic callbacks to both a classic painterly style (like Alex Ross) and to the old yellow and pink of the 1960s Marvel Comics. A beautiful nod to the classic Iron Man, and a cool sendoff for Brian Michael Bendis' run at Marvel.

I liked the conclusion to the introduction to Riri Williams. I loved this comic series and the conclusion was fun but a bit of a mess with a lot of unanswered questions. So frustrating. But it was a lot of fun and I got to see Riri really shine and make friends! Plus, I got to see some of my favorite heroes! So much fun and gotta love classic Stark sarcasm.

Two stars for Riri and the art. The rest was a total letdown.

This should not be part of Ironheart’s series because she’s only a part in a large ensemble and it heavily focuses on Tony Stark. It’s very misleading.

It started out so strongly and then just got too rushed, too complicated and too silly. Oh well.
