Found it quite slow paced as all the insights are gained near the end of the book. On reflection this book is about emotions rather than plot. The juxtaposition of the two female protagonists one being hypochondric and the other a strong willed scientist was interesting, and reflects real marriages in some ways. I feel there were a lot of things unanswered, or rather, undescribed and so left to the reader to use their own imagination.

wow wow wow

I could have done without the mom segway, not sure that was necessary but I actually loved everything else. Would pay money to read the notes Leah wrote that the sister has, but for a book like this, an ambiguous ending feels right. The creepiness/horror elements were just enough but not too much.

i suppose there are few things more powerful than the love between two women. few things, except the ocean.
